The Sai Baba temple is situated at Mylapore, following the preaching and bhajans of Bhagwan Shirdi Sai, in the heart of the city of Chennai. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shirdi Sai. Devotees throng the temple on Thursday, the special day for Sai Baba. The temple also has shrines dedicated to Lord Krishna and Lord Ram, the two incarnations of Vishnu. This is a well-maintained modern religious center.
A new hall is being constructed in the name of Narasimha Swamiji, replacing the old one at the Sai Mandir, Mylapore. The hall will be a larger one and will house a meditation hall on its first floor and the administrative office on its second floor. The construction is slated to be completed in the next five months; the new mandapam will be fashioned using granite stones and will be artistically decorated. Since the existing hall was nearly fifty years old it was decided to demolish it and build a new one in its place. Apart from this work several other renovation works have also been carried out and added that in the sanctum sanctorum a silver prabhai has been fitted. The ceilings have been decorated with artistic designs and colourful bulbs. The flooring of the Radha Krishna Mandapam has been relaid with granite stones. The dhuni (the place where a fire is kept burning constantly) has been reconstructed with granite and firewood stones. The picture of Saibaba at Dwarakamayi has been designed on the same model as that of Shirdhi. The central hall has been fitted with new electrical wires and small lights have replaced the tube lights to accentuate the spiritual atmosphere, Thursday a special day is celebrated with a grand aarthi… following with thousands of devotees in temple.. annadanam is made for 25000+ devotees.. The beauty of the temple is the prasadam is distributed the wholeday when the temple remains open.
A website www.allindiasaisamaj.org has been launched to benefit the devotees.
